i just moved into a house with some friends and I'm partaking in all the New Years Eve Rituals. Some i find odd...but as they say when in Rome do as the Roman's do. Some part of me is enjoying all this ritualistic superstitions. And i do love the new years. Don't know what i have planned on the last hours of 2008. BUT, all i want to say is Good Riddance. I guess if 08 taught me anything it's that you live, learn and move on. I've moved a total of 3 times have had a total of 4 jobs have had 8 roommates. It feels like I'm starting off 09 with a new home, a new adopted family, a good job, and great people around me. *crossing fingers* Hope 2009 treats me better.

| So long to summer '08 you will not be missed. Tonight marks the end of the first day of the fall season. Best of all...no more 115 degree weather! Just a little update. I've been working at Mesa Grill now for over a month and i love it. i've already had my ups and downs and they expect a lot from me. I just hope i don't disapoint. Only Vegas can you be working and in the middle of your shift the owner Bobby Flay is standing a few inches from you. I've moved into my apartment a few weeks ago. Haven't had time to move my furniture from storage but if all goes to plan on Wednesday I'll be able to crash on my cushiony bed and plomp on my couch and best of all eat dinner on a dining room table. More later...its almost my bed time got work early in the morning and since I don't have a TV yet I need to catch up on my TV shows online. -Mich | | |
| on the up n up I have interviews set up this and next week for station casinos, boyd gaming, and Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's restaurant) at Ceasar's Palace. There was no doubt in my mind that I would get a job eventually. There was just a short lag. On the topic of worrying. I'm one to say that half of the stuff we worry about hasn't happened yet and the other half we have no control over. SO WHY WORRY!? but when it comes down to it...especially with hard sittuations. I tend to avoid it until its too late and all hell has broken loose. I finally told my mom about my decision to stay in Vegas and as dissapointed as she was i'm glad i have support from family. I've had awesome friends up here in Vegas that have been helping me more than I could ever ask for and i'm thankful for them. Cross your fingers for me because if i get the job at Messa Grill I start at $17 and if i work full time i'll be making the same amount of money as i would have been making if i had moved to Chicago. When it comes down to it...I am happier than I was. -Mich | | |
| long story short...i'm staying in Las Vegas. A part of me knew i'd end up back here. For my own personal reasons. A lot of it had to do with my hesitation to move across the country to a new city where i knew no one let alone visited. I want to move cause i want to not cause i have to. This isn't about proving people wrong...i know i could have gone there suceeded and made the most of it. But it came down to what i want for ME. A salary is nice but i'm still young and i don't want to commit 2 years of my life to a job which in a few months won't know if i want it or not. If my new plans fail. I don't get a job at the new Wynn property "encore" I can always reapply for management trainee programs come Fall. Perhaps a career in cruise lines. I want to travel now while i'm young before i settle...Well...To sum it up I D K. -Mich | | |
